End of the year

Hey everyone, due to AP Exams and Finals being soon we're pretty much done with meetings for the year. Next year the club is going to be organized into teams of 2-5 people so start thinking about who you want to be in a group with. Each group will be responsible for either upgrading a robot or for designing and building a new robot. Each team will also have to do their own fundraising. More details about what we plan on doing next year should be available soon. If any body has any questions about next year contact either me, Alan or Brian.

I am working on concepts for redesigning Dethinator.

Don't expect it to keep the same name either. It will pretty much be a new bot. And it will be expensive again. I will get estimates on total price before I would commit to it, but the things I am looking at right now are looking at pushing the $5000 mark...

Also, Dan, I need to get Solidworks from you, or I will just go ahead and contact them. And I need to figure out how exactly to access the members only area[My Google Account is not allowed to access it right now])

what email address are you using for your google account? I'll add it in cause i'm not sure if i did or not.
as far as solidworks goes, i gave brian my three extra copies for you guys - he was supposed to give one to you, and one to julien (even though julien's got a mac... :P) so get on brian about solidworks.

$5000??? holy crap man! our total budget last year was ~$3000!

drehera16@yahoo.com is my email.

As for my budget for my 15 lb bot...

I want to use 3/16" 6-4 Ti to make a 14"(45 degree cone) or 15.5"(30 degree cone) diameter frustum(truncated cone) shell.

Getting the shell made will be a fair amount by itself.

Then, two Axi 2826/8(or 4120/14 if I have room) Brushless motors to spin the shell, plus the speed controller for each is another $500. And I want spares. So $1000 in weapon motor electronics. Plus Li-Poly/A123 batteries and chargers...

I am estimating $5000. It may end up being less.

But I think it will be pretty good.

Well, new problem with your AutoCAD download.

According to Mediafire, the file either no longer exists(was removed) or some sort of error in the process of attempting to access it occurred.

Either way, I can't actually download it. :(

hmm...

try this:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/2mznvmzyj5i/ACAD2000.zip

http://www.mediafire.com/?eky4cyttcwy

the first is the actual program, the second is an additional file you need (I don't remember what the deal is with the two files, so if you can't figure it out, let me know and I'll try to find out why I had to do it like this)
